"I thank you God for this most amazing day, for the leaping greenly spirits of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes." - e. e. cummings

and summer is over

Just as quickly as it arrived the summer has now departed. But it has been good...incredible actually.

I leave my family in Florida tonight to head back to Lookout Mountain for the beginning of another year working at Covenant. So much has happened this summer for me. I have been on 15 flights, traveled through 20 states, 4 countries, met tons of people, been in two weddings...etc, etc.

My time here in Florida has been good. It was weird at first to be living somewhere for more than 3 days. I went straight into wedding mode as one of my dear friends, Pedro, got married the first weekend I was down. So things were pretty fast paced, I was still on the go, and I was meeting new people, along with reuniting with many good friends.

But after the wedding things died down and I was able to lie around and relax...a lot. And it was very hard for me to do that actually. In fact, I really couldn't do that for a while. But I found things to do and eventually was able to sit and do nothing which I think I really needed after such a trip. Was able to play golf a couple times, play tennis, disc golf, go to the beach a few times, go to a high school reunion, see Inception (which I really recommend), visit with some friends, spend time reflecting the trip and journaling. It was good.

And now I am outta here and back to the real world...I will be updating the blog with some more videos and maps in the future. Until then, thanks for letting me share the summer with you.

God Bless,
-b garrison
